REPORT

Report your experiences living, working, and visiting the Tijuana River Watershed.  Our collective experiences are hugely important to understanding the full extent of impacts from transboundary pollution and communicating those impacts to drive solutions. 

  • Complete the SDSU Community Health Survey

    to help identify health issues linked to environmental conditions in your community, contribute to research that could lead to improvements in public health and the environment, and share your experiences and concerns about the quality of air and water.

  • Report odors to San Diego County’s Air Pollution Control District to elevate this issue at the County and encourage action.

    • Scroll down to “Reporting an Air Quality Complaint” and click on the links to download the app
    • The more reports they get, the more pressure for them to respond and the more data for driving advocacy

  • Report illnesses from exposure to contaminated water to Surfrider Foundation through the Water Quality Illness Report

  • Tell your doctor if you live, work, or frequent areas in or near the Tijuana River Valley at your next visit to provide context about what might be causing your symptoms and to add to the record of where impacts are being experienced

Artist Credit: Josué Baltézar (he/him) is an artist and designer who believes art should be accessible to everyone. He understands the crucial role that art and design play in advocating for environmental and social justice. This design for the Tijuana River Coalition brings together various elements to symbolize the dedication to advocacy for and protection of the Tijuana River region, which includes both sides of the US/MX border. A mountain sits prominently in the center, with two houses at its base, representing our communities on both sides of the border. The Tijuana River flows through the mountains and down into the foreground, where the river meets the Pacific Ocean. On the left and right of the mountains are native plants, including giant kelp on the left and prickly pear cactus on the right. Above the mountains, a brown pelican and a monarch butterfly fly toward a radiating sun. The design aims to convey a sense of interconnectedness and call attention to the need to protect our natural environment and the communities along the entire Tijuana River region.
